What we do at the Commission.
The Honorable Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi attended a media parley with other stakeholders on implementation of grant for vulnerable persons.
In attendance were the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, National Coordinator Social Investment Program Engr Umar B. Bindir, Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disability Mr James Lalu, Director-General of National Senior Citizen Centre Dr Emem Omokaro among others.
NCFRMI Host Delegation from African Youth Resource Centre
he Honourable Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi received a delegation from African Youth Resource Centre and was delighted to be nominated as “African Youth Role model.”
She thanked the leadership of the African Youth Resource Centre for their support and encouragement.
She also urged them to key into the activities of the Commission as we strengthen our National response in the provision of Protection, Assistance and Durable Solutions for Persons of Concern.
Lagos Declared Refugee Friendly City
The Honorable Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi in collaboration with UNHCR hosted The Executive Governor of Lagos State His Excellency Babajide Sanwo Olu to the signing of the declaration of Lagos as a refugee friendly city.
In her remarks “ The signing underscores the place of refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons and other Persons of Concern (PoCs) in the heart of the Executive Governor. Lagos has always been and particularly under the current leadership, has created inclusiveness and promoted hope for refugees and other PoCs through favourable policies in the areas of education, health and social services. With the signing, Lagos is going to join other league of towns and cities in the world that have signed the Declaration.
In attendance was the Representative of the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, UNHCR Country Representative Ms. Chansa Kapaya, Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Special Duties, Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development LASG, DG NIALS Prof MT Ladan amongst others.
The Honourable Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi chaired the technical working group(TWG) meeting on voluntary repatriation of Nigerian Refugees from Cameroon, Chad and Niger republic.
In attendance was the Deputy Country representative of UNHCR Mr John McKissick and other members of the TWG.
HFC Visits Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies
The Honurable Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi met with the Director General of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Prof MT Ladan.
Discussion centered around areas of partnership and the Commission’s reviewed strategic Plan such as strengthening of internal framework.
