Assumption of Office by the Newly Appointed HFC
On the 4th of June, 2021 the former DG of NAPTIP Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim resumed office as the new Honourable Federal Commissioner (HFC) of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) office following the Directives of President Muhammadu Buhari. The Directors and staff of the Commission welcomed the new HFC.
Subsequently, she was shown around the premises and introduced to staff of the Commission who expressed their interest and will to have a progressive relationship for the benefit of the Commission and its persons of concern.
International Organisation of Migration
The HFC, Sen. Basheer Garba Mohammed received Mr. Jefferey Labovitz, Global Director of Emergency Operations, IOM along with the Chief of Mission in Nigeria, Frantz Celestin for a courtesy visit on November 18th, 2020.
H.E Senator Kashim Ibrahim
The Federal Commissioner received the former Governor of Borno State, H.E Senator Kashim Shettima to discuss ways to improve the lives of IDPs & other vulnerable persons in Borno Central Senatorial District on November 11th, 2020.
African Union Development Agency- the New Partnership for Africa’s Development
The HFC, Sen. Basheer Garba Mohammed on November 4th, 2020, welcomed a delegation from the African Union Development Agency- the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), led by the National Coordinator/CEO, Princess Gloria Akobundu.
On the 26th October, 2020, the Federal Commissioner, NCFRMI received a Swiss delegation led by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Libya & ECOWAS, H.E Georg Steiner, to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration between the Swiss Government and the Commission.
