The Skill Up Empowerment Project is designed to integrate Persons of Concern (PoCs) back into society by empowering the beneficiaries with skills to aid employment and entrepreneurship for sustainable living. The Honourable Federal-Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi in collaboration with Mallam Kashifu Inuwa DG National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) launched the first phase of the project with two hundred (200) PoCs on digital services capacity building Programmes and empowered with starter-packs & Stipend at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), Abuja. The Commission further partner's with ICreate Africa to train fifty (50) PoCs in various skills ranging from carpentry, tailoring, catering, barbing, welding & fabrication, photography and video-graphy, web-design & graphics, shoe-cobbling and cosmetology among others,


The project Zero Hunger initiative, A flagship programme introduced by the Honorable Federal Commissioner (HFC) National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI). Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim with the Primary purpose of tackling immediate nutritional needs of the Commission’s Persons of Concern tagged “Each One Feeds One”. The Project will also serve as a preliminary support system especially to the recently displaced and individuals situated in hard-to-reach areas as the packages are designed to be compact, safe, and easy to transport especially during this pandemic era. The HFC Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim officially laubched the programme on the 30th September 2021 at the Durumi IDP camp Abuja.  In her remarks, “as a result of the launch of the project zero hunger, each one feeds one. This will, to a large extent help in addressing challenges around food insecurity and allow government focal agencies to focus on providing more durable and sustainable solutions”. In Attendance the Chief Launcher of the event Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq who was represented by Director Humanitarian Affairs Alhaji Ali Grema. represented by Director Humanitarian Affairs Alhaji Ali Grema. The Chairman, Senate Committee on Special duties Senator Yusuf A Yusuf, the Co-resent. Launcher Chief of Defense Staff General Lucky Irabor, the Board chairman of NCFRMI Hon. Peter Biye and other distinguished guests were also present.


HFC joins other agencies under the Humanitarian Ministry to support and celebrate with the Honurable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq as the winner of 2021 Dream Up, Speak Up and Stand Up (DUSUSU) gender minister award.

A well deserved accolade as the Honourable Minister has shown exemplary leadership/contributions towards gender improvement and strengthening in the Nation; which is genuinely commendable.


The Resettlement City Project Takes Form In Auchi, Edo State

The Honourable Federal Commission Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi and The Governor of Edo State His Excellency Godwin Obaseki represented by The Deputy Governor of Edo State Philip Shuaibu broke ground for the Proposed resettlement city in Auchi, Edo State.

In the HFC’s remarks, she said “the Commission will be building resilience on critical needs per state as well as working with State governments in order to complement already existing plans for resettlement of Persons of Concern in order to forestall duplication of efforts and waste of already scarce resources.”

The Honourable Federal Commissioner attended the 1st meeting of the joint implementation committee and the 2nd meeting of the consular and migration forum between South Africa and Nigeria at Pretoria, South Africa.

The Forum, chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their South African counterparts and various MDA’s, ES Human Right Commission, Deputy Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Secretary of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), NDLEA, Ministries of Interior, Justice and Aviation.
