Humanitarian Service Project by the Abuja Nigeria South Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Uju Igboko, the Head, Community Service, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) led a team to the Humanitarian Service Project (Welfare Visit Program) organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints targeted at refugees under the care of the Commission in Nyanya Gwandara. Items handed to the refugees include food and non-food items such as bags of rice, spaghetti, soaps. noodles etc. The intervention is in line with the tradition and responsibility of the Church in caring for the poor and needy. Bishop Ibe Celestine Ikechukwu welcomed the team as he reaffirmed the commitment of the Church towards addressing the plight of the displaced who are among the deprived. Kingsley Bash Ngene, the Special Assistant to the Honourable Federal Commissioner, NCFRMI thanked the officials of the Church for the noble gesture urging them to be part of the upcoming 2018 World Humanitarian Day Celebration.
