Medical outreach in IDP Camp Wassa, Abuja
NCFRMI was in Wassa Camp, Abuja on the 17th May, 2018 for a medical outreach. The outreach which commenced on World Hypertension Day is designed to assist Displaced Persons, especially those in need of urgent medical assistance. NCFRMI through the IDPs Department led by Mrs. Shizzer Bada have received series of medical cases including an IDP who was recently stabbed with a knife. The Federal Commissioner, Sadiya Umar Farouq at the event promised that the Commission and its partners will carry out follow ups and referrals for complex medical issues. The patients were diagnosed, received consultation or treated for various ailments including Malaria, Typhoid Fever, Irregular Blood Pressure, Pains, diabetes and so on. Children were also immunized. The Medical Outreach in collaboration with NISA Hospital is an ongoing exercise and will extend to other Persons of Concern within FCT.
