Meeting with Williams & Mary Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations
The Management Team, NCFRMI, led by the Honorable Federal Commissioner, Sadiya Umar Farouq met with a delegation from Williams & Mary Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations (ITPIR) led by Sen. Iyabo Obasanjo, as part of consultation with stakeholders in Nigeria, Greece and Columbia on the AidData project. ITPIR “is a hub for interdisciplinary, collaborative, internationally-focused research that employs rigorous social science methods to make meaningful contributions to contemporary international debate, policy and practice”. AidData is a signature student-faculty research initiative at the college of William and Mary. It has spearheaded a global movement to “geocode” aid projects through interactive maps, and visualize aid information through user friendly dashboards. AidData is also involved in pilot programs to crowdsource feedback from aid beneficiaries. The partnership/project will provide more insight on how data is accessed and applied in policy making and programming for vulnerable displaced persons.
