In a significant move towards resolving the plight of displaced Nigerians, a Federal Government delegation led by the Honourable Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Rt. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, alongside the Honourable Federal Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, joined the Governor of Borno State on a crucial mission to Baga Sola, Lac Region, Chad Republic.
The purpose of the visit was to formalize a tripartite agreement for the voluntary repatriation of 7,790 Nigerian refugees currently residing in Chad.
A Landmark Agreement for Refugee Repatriation
The agreement was officially signed by key representatives from all three parties:
